Papers, 1900-1948, 1988-1989.

The Papers, created from 1900 to 1947, contain both manuscript and typescript material. The typescripts are usually a final version of the manuscript copy, though not a verbatim transcript. The Papers include genealogical family group sheets, correspondence, miscellaneous notes and clippings. The Cram family is traced from German and English origins from 1181 to the American immigrant, John Cram (d. ca. 1682) of Muddy River (now Brookline, Mass.) and Hampton Falls, N.H. The Papers document the family as it grew through the generations and includes Mormon and California Gold Rush Crams. Other families prominently mentioned are Edgerly, Flanders, Gove, Hackler, Philbrick, Sanborn, Steele, Webster and many others. In 1988, an addendum by Lorraine N. (Francis Lorraine Naquin) Tyler (b. 1930) was added [as folder 413]. The processor of the collection, Ardis D. (Ardis Donetta Gardiner) King (b. 1911), created a complete, all-name index to the Papers in 1989 that encompasses 407 pages.
